The Uncertainty Principals are the result of a convergence between Emmy award-winning comedy writer and producer Jim Vallely, acclaimed live comedy producer and performer Maggie Rowe, and Internet entrepreneur and owner of The Vanguard in Hollywood, Jordan Birnbaum. The goal of the company is to create a multi-dimensional media catalogue through the production of original media and live events held at The Vanguard.
The company has built an artist network of writers, actors and musicians, ranging in age and experience from the highest levels of the entertainment industry to the most exciting undiscovered talent in Hollywood. This network is the result of Maggie Rowe's 8 years of producing independent comedy, ranging from Sit And Spin, the bi-weekly comedy show, to the critically acclaimed Hollywood Hell House and Hollywood Purity Ball, and Jim Vallely's creative network, developed over 25 years of writing and performing for television and film, including Golden Girls, My Wife and Kids, and Action. Jim also received an emmy and writer's guild award for his writing on Arrested Development.
The Uncertainty Principals' first project, the monthly "A Pretty Good Show," will re-define the comedy live event. Based loosely on a Vaudevillian format, the show will incorporate live and musical comedy, as well as pre-taped media. The show will consistently incorporate audience participation, and the audience is invited to the cast party immediately following the show, as well as our late night comedy experiments in hidden corners of the Vanguard.
The company plans on shooting its first feature film, The Hollywood Purity Ball, in summer '09.
Mostly, though, we are one big happy creative family trying our best to make you laugh. Enjoy!
